Setting the mood in your home with Vitruvi

While living in Australia, I constantly had a diffuser running in my apartment to set the mood— be it energizing while I was studying or calming to relax on the weekends or at night. After moving back to the U.S., I waited to find a diffuser that I loved because I knew it would be a fixture in my home.

When I came across Vitruvi, I knew I had found something special. I reached out to them and they were kind enough to gift me with a white stone diffuser and a selection of essential oils and blends.

Vitruvi’s stone diffuser features a ceramic outer shell and doubles as a piece of art in your home. I’d love to surround it with other small ceramic vases as I find them. For now, I’ve used a few trays to set up a little diffuser cocktail bar in the corner of our living room.

Vitruvi’s 100% pure essential oils can be diffused individually or blended together to create diffuser cocktails. I love their minimalist packaging and I think they look great sitting out in the living room. I also love that the origin of each oil is featured on the label— lemon oil from Italy? Spruce oil from Austria? Yes please!

here are a few of my favorite diffuser cocktails so far:

I like to use about 20 drops in total in my diffuser— play with the proportion of each oil!

Lavender + Lemon + Rosemary

fresh, clean & welcoming

Lavender + Lemon + Peppermint

seasonal support (goodbye allergies!)

Peppermint + Eucalyptus + Lavender + Rosemary

When I have a migraine, I mix one drop of each of these oils in the palm of my hand, rub my hands together, and cup my hands over my mouth and nose before inhaling deeply for almost immediate headache relief. I then rub on the back of my neck and temples (might irritate skin)— or this blend can be diffused.

Lemon + Eucalyptus + Peppermint + Rosemary

respiratory support when you have a cold

Cedarwood + Lavender

sleepy

Vitruvi was also kind enough to gift me with some of their essential oil blends. I love diffusing boost, a citrus blend, in the morning to kickstart my day.

I also like to diffuse in our bedroom during the night— I usually use dusk, lavender, and/or cedarwood.

I keep my Sleep Roll-On on my bedside table and apply to my wrists before bed, inhaling deeply. I find the Roman Chamomile so calming.

(No blog post could be complete without a curious puppy cameo!)

I keep my eucalyptus oil in the shower and put a few drops in my hands once it gets a little steamy. I rub my hands together, and inhale deeply as the oil evaporates into the steam, creating a lovely spa moment.

I hope you’ve learned a few good essential oil cocktails and tricks to take control of the mood in your home!

If you don’t already use a diffuser, I highly recommend purchasing one and starting with a basic set of oils (I would recommend lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus.)

If you are already a pro at diffusing, what are your favorite blends?
